Step 1: Gather Necessary Documents

Before starting the registration process, ensure you have the following documents ready:

  • PAN Card of the business or applicant
  • Proof of business registration or incorporation certificate
  • Identity and address proof of promoters/directors with photographs
  • Address proof of the business place
  • Bank account statement/cancelled cheque
  • Digital Signature

Step 2: Visit the GST Portal

Go to the official GST portal: GST.gov.in" target="_blank"> www.GST.gov.in.

Step 3: Click on 'Register Now'

On the homepage, navigate to the 'Services' tab and select 'Registration' and then 'New Registration'. Click on the 'Register Now' button.

Step 4: Fill in Part-A of the Registration Form

  1. Select 'Taxpayer' under the 'I am a' dropdown menu.
  2. Enter the state and district.
  3. Enter the name of the business and PAN.
  4. Provide an email address and mobile number.
  5. Click 'Proceed'.

Step 5: Complete OTP Verification

You will receive OTPs on your provided mobile number and email address. Enter these OTPs on the portal to verify.

Step 6: Fill in Part-B of the Registration Form

After OTP verification, you will receive a Temporary Reference Number (TRN). Use this TRN to log in and fill in Part-B of the form. Provide details about your business, additional places of business, and details of goods and services.

Step 7: Upload Required Documents

Upload the scanned copies of the required documents as mentioned earlier. Ensure that the documents are clear and legible.

Step 8: Submit the Application

After filling in all the details and uploading the documents, submit the application using one of the following methods:

  • Digital Signature (DSC)
  • E-Sign (using Aadhaar OTP)
  • EVC (Electronic Verification Code)

Step 9: Receive ARN

After successful submission, you will receive an Application Reference Number (ARN) via email and SMS. Use this ARN to track the status of your application.

Step 10: GSTIN Issued

If all the information and documents are correct, you will receive your GSTIN (GST Identification Number) and the GST registration certificate via email.
